This formulation was known to produce poor metallic flake alignment even with a commercial additive that was designed to improve flake alignment based on an unsaturated polycarboxylic ester.
The polymer is an aqueous solution of a polycarboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol as a crosslinking agent in water (52% water).
