(organic chemistry)
A polyether resin of 2,6-dimethylphenol, (CH3)2C6H3OH; useful temperature range is -275 to 375°F (-168 to 191°C), with intermittent use possible up to 400°F (204°C).

However, Sabic Innovative Plastics' Noryl polyphenylene oxide (PPO) resin, while amorphous, nonetheless provides better hot water resistance than other resins with otherwise similar performance.
These resins would include higher Tg epoxy, cyanate ester, polyphenylene oxides (PPO), resin-coated foils (typically containing two different materials), PPE and liquid crystal polymers.
A novel thermoset resin based on polyphenylene oxide (PPO) chemistry was unveiled last month at the NPE show by GE Plastics.
