It is well known that inclusions will induce porosity formation during the casting solidification process, as these inclusions constitute a free surface upon which the hydrogen atoms can nucleate and form a hydrogen molecule. Key statement: The crumb rubber media are compressible which allows the porosity between rubber particles to decrease through the filter bed. Step 1: facies analysis (including establishing the primary porosity and permeability distributions, and the "primary aquastratigraphy"--a term newly defined in this article); Step 2: petrographic analyses (paragenetic sequence, mapping amounts and spatial distribution of diagenetic phases); Step 3: geochemical analyses (isotopes, trace elements, fluid inclusions, etc. |
