5 per share next year mostly thanks to its success in wining orders from manufacturers of Apple iPod and iPhone batteries for its polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) devices.
INTRODUCTION Positive temperature coefficient of resistance (PTCR) thermistors (temperature-dependent resistors) are commonly employed in a wide range of applications including temperature sensors, protection circuits, flow meters, self-regulating heating elements, etc.
Two of the Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) Thermistors with the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) package are the first of their kind to be introduced: The PTH9C is used for temperature sensing in power transistors, power diodes and power IC, and the PTH8C is designed for overload protection in rechargeable battery packs and their chargers.
