The Irish potato famine of the 1840s brought an influx of unmarried Irish women into the northeast.
The firm recently earned an excellence award from NYACE for its collaborative work on the Irish Hunger Memorial in Battery Park City, which includes grasses and stones from every county in Ireland, as well as an abandoned cottage that dates back to the era of the Irish Potato Famine in the mid-19th century.
