The power available at the output terminals of a component or piece of equipment that is operated according to the manufacturer's specifications.

My recommendation is to purchase the highest power rating you can afford with all other factors being equal.

A far easier method is to check out the power rating label on your appliance, usually near where the power cable goes in or on the body of an external transformer.
