Ground operation[s] commenced after massive preparatory fires on the Gaza Strip that consisted of 1,500 shells, of which 500 were fired in direct support of the Givati Brigade.
The Div Arty and 1-39 FA opened the attack with a 12-rocket preparatory fire plan on four targets along 2d Brigade's route.
