A cable that connects a printer to a computer. On a PC, it typically refers to a cable with a 25-pin DB-25 male connector that plugs into the computer and a 36-pin Centronics male connector that plugs into the printer. Known as a "Centronics" cable, it uses the parallel port on the computer. See Centronics interface.

EnCase is copy-protected through the use of a dongle that plugs into the USB or parallel port (you can pass your printer cable through the parallel version so it won't interfere with printing). HP does not have time to open the box and put that printer cable in. This capability will be especially convenient for office environments by eliminating the need for printer cables, and for business travelers since they will no longer need to find a cable when they need to print. |
