A TV set that can convert interlaced content to progressive scan (non-interlaced) to reduce flicker and provide a better picture. Broadcast TV, cable TV and most DVDs are encoded for interlaced video such as NTSC. Modern projector TVs, plasma and LCD flat panels, HDTV sets and all computer monitors are progressive displays.
