| Evidence for about 40 of the new particles turned up in an analysis of millions of proton-proton collisions from 2000 and 2001 at the Super Proton Synchrotron accelerator at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) near Geneva. The Axeda Supervisor also monitors 13 cooling stations of the Super Proton Synchrotron accelerator, 11 cooling stations of the Proton Synchrotron accelerator included the TOF (Time of Flight) experiment cooling station. Since 1994, seven separate CERN teams have studied lead-lead and lead-gold collisions at the laboratory's Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) accelerator. |
