psoas [′sō·əs]
(anatomy)
Either of two muscles: psoas major which arises from the bodies and transverse processes of the lumbar vertebrae and is inserted into the lesser trochanter of the femur, and psoas minor which arises from the bodies and transverse processes of the lumbar vertebrae and is inserted on the pubis.

We report a case of Veillonella dispar causing an extensive spinal epidural abscess with discitis, a left psoas abscess and bacteremia.
0-T MR images of the pelvis were acquired in a sagittal plane parallel to the psoas muscle 24 hours after ferumoxtran-10 administration.
