Almost any public-service related activity will count, except for professional services related to accounting organizations, which are not considered in determining the award winner. The purpose of this research update is to address the uniqueness of a public-service orientation, and to explore if we, as parks and recreation professionals, have a public-service orientation. The model tracks public-service organizations' performance against two factors: outcomes (the purpose and goals of the organization in delivery of services to citizens) and cost-effectiveness (minimizing cost without compromising the quality of services). |
