Some leptospirosis symptoms are consistent with Alexander's illness; however, other classic leptospirosis signs (biphasic fever, calf or thigh pain, jaundice, hemorrhage, pulmonic involvement) were not reported.
The right ventricle then pumps this still oxygen poor blood through the pulmonic valve into the pulmonary artery (the only artery in the body which carries deoxygenated blood in the body), which allows the blood to enter the lungs where it picks up oxygen.
