| At 45, Elizalde is a wizard of special effects who's building a reputation as someone who can put flesh on the bones of the most hideous nightmare, from a Lovecraftian demon in ``Hellboy'' to Kelsey Grammer's blue mutant beast in ``X-Men: The Last Stand. The rest of the film follows her hallucinatory expeditions through time, visiting with storied dinosaur digger Barnum Brown (a century later, scientists are still picking through his accumulated discoveries) and painter Charles Knight, who at the turn of the century imaginatively put flesh on the bones Brown found for an increasingly fascinated public. |
