ZF2 encountered norites and anorthosites of the Main Zone of the Bushveld Complex before intersecting pyroxenitic rocks of the Platreef unit from 929 to 1,152 meters and ending in footwall granitic rocks at a depth of 1,166 meters. ZF4 encountered norites and anorthosites of the Main Zone of the Bushveld Complex before intersecting pyroxenitic rocks of the Platreef unit from 1009 to 1193 meters and ending in footwall granitic rocks at a depth of 1219 meters. The higher grade intersections in the Platreef unit in ZF1 (tabulated above) comprise variable pyroxenitic and feldspathic pyroxenitic rocks containing varying concentrations of chromite, disseminated sulphides and associated PGM and base metal mineralization (refer to AfriOre's press release dated March 1, 2005). |
