A capsule that dehisces by a transverse fissure around the circumference.

A southern constellation; right ascension 9 hours, declination 30° south. Also known as Malus.

Pyxis 

a small box used in antiquity to hold cosmetics. Made of wood, clay, bone, metal, or—in ancient Rome—also glass, and often decorated with painted designs, the pyxis was usually cylindrical in shape; its walls could be convex, concave, or straight. Some pyxides were in the shape of a bowl that had three feet.

Armed with this information, the National Recreation and Park Association recently launched its Pyxis Learning Center, an online learning system geared specifically toward people who care about public parks and recreation.
Pyxis Carousel System automates the distribution of medications and supplies for hospital pharmacies by providing an ergonomically efficient, vertical storage and retrieval system intended to help maximize workplace productivity and reduce operational costs.
The project involves converting space that has been called Pyxis rooms -- where the hospital set up its automated medication dispensing system -- on the third through 10th floors.
