Radio-Phonograph

Also found in: Dictionary/thesaurus 0.01 sec.
Radio-Phonograph

an electronic device for everyday use, combining a radio receiver and a phonograph into a single unit. The use of common audio-frequency amplifiers, AC rectifiers, and loudspeakers simplifies the apparatus and lowers the cost. The Soviet industry produces table-model and floor-model designs for both monophonic and stereophonic sound reproduction; stereophonic models are equipped with extension loudspeakers. Radio-phonographs have performance characteristics corresponding to those of radio receivers and phonographs in analogous classes. Models manufactured in the USSR include the Ural-112, Rigonda-102, and Estonia-006.
