| Radiocarbon dates for pieces of burned wood retrieved among Neandertal stone tools indicate that these human ancestors used part of the cave from 32,000 to 24,000 years ago, the investigators report in a paper published online Sept. Stager adds that more extensive radiocarbon dating will be needed to establish its age. The chapter on radiocarbon and T-L dating is a straightforward description of both procedures but more headings would break up the text into smaller understandable pieces for the scientifically impaired. |
