Immediately facing the external deck is a louvreless section of wall where light is modulated by raisable venetian blinds to provide visual continuity between external and internal play areas. The big, cushy chairs, with their conveniently raisable armrests, have been compared to airplane seats, but I find them noticeably more comfortable. At 170 feet long, 60 feet wide and up to 16 feet deep, the 50-meter pool, which is big enough for international competitions, is state-of-the-art in every respect from its computerized filtration and surge systems to its hydraulically raisable floor that can create a teaching section with access for wheelchairs. |
