Tokyo, Japan, Mar 6, 2007 - (JCN Newswire) - ANA today moved its fleet rationalisation plan one stage further as it ordered four more 777-300ER wide-body aircraft for its intercontinental fleet and sold three 747-400s to Oasis Growth Income and Investments Limited of Hong Kong, for operation by Oasis Hong Kong Airlines Limited.
The Howard Government passed its regressive WorkChoices Bill in December last year and immediately set about an award rationalisation process that, if successful, will lead to a dramatic erosion of nurses' working conditions currently available in awards.
At its peak in 1989, ANA's Super Jumbo fleet comprised 23 aircraft - at the time approximately 22% of the entire fleet of 105 - however as changes in the aviation market occurred it was decided to retire the 747SR fleet in line with ANA's fleet rationalisation plan, concentrating on one aircraft type in each of the large, medium and small categories.
