rebecca-eureka system [ri′bek·ə yu̇′rē·kə ‚sis·təm] (navigation) An aircraft radar homing system in which an airborne interrogator-responsor (rebecca) homes on a ground radar beacon (eureka) that has been dropped or set up in advance; the system can also give the distance from the rebecca radar to the eureka beacon.
