| The Post story reported that "shortly before recessing late Friday, the House and Senate gave the Bush administration leeway to distribute the money to a combination of projects--not just the physical barrier along the southern border. In addition, both of the pod drives have the advantage of reducing boat draft through their use of smaller diameter contra-rotating props and in the case of the Zeus, recessing the props into partial hull tunnels. But minutes later, the Senate then shut down - recessing a day earlier than planned - leaving the project stalled for four months until the Senate resumed last week and passed it Monday as the first bill of the new year. |
