Recurrence
(1) Repeated appearance in different strati-graphic layers of the same forms and of entire faunal or floristic complexes. The phenomenon of recurrence is associated with the migration of animals and plants that have existed for some time outside their original habitat, from which they were expelled. With restoration of certain conditions, the organisms return to their original habitat without having undergone major changes. (2) Repetition of the composition of the products of volcanic eruptions and forms of magmatic activity. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
