redtop grass [′red‚täp ‚gras]
(botany)
One of the bent grasses,Agrostis albaand its relatives, which grow on a wide variety of soils; it is a perennial, spreads slowly by rootstocks, and has top growth 2-3 feet (60-90 centimeters) tall.
