Any of various small, well-defined, characteristic indentations or pits on the surface of meteorites, frequently resembling the imprints of fingertips in soft clay. Also known as pezograph; piezoglypt.

Regmaglypt 

a characteristic depression on the surface of meteorites, formed as a result of the “drilling” effect of the earth’s atmosphere on meteorites traveling through the atmosphere at extremely high velocities. The depressions resemble the impressions of fingers in soft clay. (SeeMETEORITE.)
