(medicine)
A second infection after recovery from an earlier infection with the same kind of organism.

Reinfection 

a second infection of a human or animal with the pathogen of an infectious disease. Reinfection is distinguished from the exacerbation of a disease after an apparent recovery, which is important in determining the medical methods used at the source of an epidemic.

Nag and Hati have found a way to differentiate between a relapse and reinfection.
The worry, though, is that it does not prevent people from getting re-infected by bathing in infested waters, and reinfection offers plenty of opportunities for the parasite to become resistant.
These infected machines will be a continuing source for reinfection.
