replenisher [ri′plen·ish·ər] (ordnance) A cylinder containing recoil oil and a spring-actuated piston, which allows for expansion of oil in the recoil system which has become heated during firing of the weapon; it also returns oil to the recoil system after firing, when the temperature (and volume) of the oil is down.
