C18H18A cyclic hydrocarbon, melting at 100.5-101°C, soluble in benzene and hot ethanol; used in organic syntheses.

Billiard (2002) compared a variety of PAHs with various affinities for the AHR and potencies for CYP1A induction in juvenile rainbow trout; chemicals ranged from the strong CYPIA inducer benzo(k)fluoranthene, to the relatively weak, alkylated inducer retene and the noninducer phenanthrene.
Depending on the type of scar, there are many good treatments already on the market - for example, Retene cream or glycolic peels, available from most good chemists.
The molecular weight of the compounds investigated ranged from 234 kDa for retene (1-methyl-7-isopropyl-phenanthrene) to 300 kDa for coronene.
