(spectroscopy)
The temperature of a blackbody source such that, when light from this source is passed through a luminous gas and analyzed in a spectroscope, a given spectral line of the gas disappears, whereas it appears as a bright line at lower blackbody temperatures, and a dark line at higher temperatures.
