For the final cultivation give the soil a shallow rotovate or lightly dig it over with a garden fork whilst breaking clods with the back of the fork.
Let the soil lie around until it has partially dried out, then rotovate if you must.
That is unless Dave Lawrence and his Sky team are due in town, when for some reason it is deemed necessary to rotovate the track.
