Rusas
the name of several kings of Urartu, whose reigns are chronicled in cuneiform inscriptions. Rusas I (ruled 730–714 B.C.) strengthened the state and reorganized the government. He conducted a war against Assyria, in which he suffered defeat. In the reign of Rusas II (685–645 B.C.), important construction and irrigation projects were carried out. Rusas III (605–585 B.C.) was the last king of Urartu. The kingdom was then conquered by the Medes (seeMEDIA). Want to thank TFD for its existence?
