(Sponsored Top-Level Domain) An Internet domain name that is supported by a community or organization. For example, the .museum domain is sponsored by the Museum Domain Management Association International (MuseDoma), which permits registration to authentic museums only. The .travel domain is sponsored by the Traliance Registry Management Company, which ensures registration is given only to applicants that are a legitimate service or product provider in the travel industry.
