FAA set to approve new safety harness for young children: The Federal Aviation Administration today will announce the first safety device approved to keep young children in their seats during flights.
Despite the agency's recommendation, Los Angeles Fire Department officials defended their policy, which allows firefighters to ride on tailboards - strapped in with a safety harness - to help engine drivers reverse their vehicles.
Cahill, however, chose instead to use a "position hook" on his safety harness, to climb up the crossbeams.
