| In 1704 a young, hot-headed sailing master, one Alexander Selkirk, was unceremoniously dropped off on a deserted South Pacific island by his ship's captain: Selkirk had defied a direct order, and in those days punishment for mutiny was swift and cruel. Under a regular Captain and Sailing Master, there are five other permanent crew, including a medic, to guide and instruct the 42 mixed-ability crew on each cruise. |
