It was forced to change its manufacturing method from sand-casting to a more costly but cleaner machine process. As the metalcasting industry moves into more semi-permanent mold and aluminum sand-casting applications, the process may offer a workplace that doesn't contain isocyanates or formaldehyde as decomposition products. True to form, the move to sand-casting last year was prompted by the foundry's desire to meet current customer needs. |
