Sarangi

an Indian bowed musical instrument. It has three to four melody strings and 11 to 15 sympathetic strings. Various forms of the instrument exist: the most widespread has a wooden body directly evolving into a short neck and a leather soundboard. The melody strings are tuned to a fourth and a fifth; the sympathetic strings are tuned to the diatonic scale.
