In this study, investigators used baseline data from 49 MS subjects participating in a clinical trial to evaluate the correlation of the PDQ with two cognitive impairment measures (Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test and California Verbal Learning Test, 2nd edition) and with a depression measure (Beck Depression Inventory-Amended).
ZUG, Switzerland & DUBLIN, Ireland -- Biogen Idec (NASDAQ: BIIB) and Elan Corporation, plc (NYSE: ELN) announced today that data from the Phase III AFFIRM monotherapy study demonstrated that treatment with TYSABRI([R]) (natalizumab) significantly reduced the proportion of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients with worsening cognitive function as measured by the 3-second Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test (PASAT 3).
We used baseline data from 49 MS subjects participating in a clinical trial to evaluate the correlation of the PDQ with two measures of cognitive impairment, the Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test (PASAT) and the California Verbal Learning Test, 2nd edition (CVLT-II), total score, and one measure of depression, the Beck Depression Inventory-Amended (BDI-IA).
