Software that manages the delivery of guaranteed levels of network services and application availability within an organization. An SLM system uses event management and reporting components to gather statistics and notify the appropriate individuals or groups to take action. A comprehensive system enables the administrator to view the status of the network and all running applications in real time. See event management system and application management system.
