(materials) Materials used to surface-treat textiles, papers, and leathers; examples are starch, gelatins, casein, water-soluble gums, and waxes. Also known as sizing. (mathematics) The number of edges of a graph. For a test of a hypothesis, the probability of a type I error. size 1. Same as sizing. 2.
