(engineering)
Separating an aggregate of mixed particles into groups according to size, using a series of screens. Also known as size classification.
(materials)
(mechanical engineering)
A finishing operation to correct surfaces and shapes to meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
(metallurgy)
Final pressing of a metal powder compact after sintering.
A cold-working operation in which a part is re-pressed in a die to improve surface hardness, smoothness, and dimensional accuracy.
