Slip rings Electromechanical components which, in combination with brushes, provide a continuous electrical connection between rotating and stationary conductors. Typical applications of slip rings are in electric rotating machinery, synchros, and gyroscopes. Slip rings are also employed in large assemblies where a number of circuits must be established between a rotating device, such as a radar antenna, and stationary equipment. Slip rings are usually constructed of steel with the cylindrical outer surface concentric with the axis of rotation. Insulated mountings insulate the rings from the shaft and from each other. Conducting brushes are arranged about the circumference of the slip rings and held in contact with the surface of the rings by spring tension. IF you Force the handle more than that, you can damage the elevation handcrank mechanical stop or the slip ring connector J4. The slip ring came off during inflation, which allowed the flange to shoot off the multi-piece wheel assembly and hit the Marine in the head, chest and arm. The K-Control system overcomes this limitation by means of an electrical rotary joint or slip ring that can withstand high oven temperatures. |
