Tremella fuciformis [trə‚mel·ə ‚fyü·sə′fȯr·məs] (mycology) A mushroom that grows on deciduous trees in the southern United States and in warm climates worldwide. Once primarily grown for its medicinal properties (it boosts immunological function and stimulates leukocyte activity), it is now used mostly for food. Also known as snow fungus.
