Alert weather watchers no doubt noticed a lowering whitish-gray overcast sky yesterday afternoon, commonly called a snow sky by many people who pay attention to the weather.
Yesterday morning, with its milky white snow sky, had the look and the feel of winter - it was 18.
Last Friday's late-morning grayish-white overcast in Dudley - the farmers used to call it a snow sky - portended the half-inch or so of snow that fell later in the day.
