The underside of a horizontal structural member, such as a beam or a slab.

The exposed undersurface of any overhead component of a building, such as an arch, balcony, beam, cornice, lintel, or vault.

Soffit 

the often decorated underside of a ceiling beam, arch, projecting cornice or some other architectural part. The Russian term sofit also refers to the representation of any part of a ceiling in a reflected ceiling plan.
