Byline: PETER CLARKE TEES Valley Sonics lost their first game as a senior side in the Men's Shield by 74-62 against an experienced Durham Wildcats II in a tense finish that went to the final two minutes.
The first season of the Sonics was rough, as they finished with a 23-59 record.
On Wednesday, the Sonics stayed in Los Angeles to face the youthful Clippers.
