Where replication systems overwrite blocks on the destination device when they're changed on the source device, CDP systems store the data in a log that allows them to present any point in time for recovery purposes. The configuration server works with handsets that have installed the Boingo Embedded Wi-Fi Toolkit, the company's open source device software platform for enabling handsets to easily and transparently authenticate to Boingo's commercial Wi-Fi hot spots worldwide. These controllers use intermediate memory for caching purposes, which means that data going to or from the disks has to be copied twice--once from the source device to the controller's memory and again from the controller's memory to the target device. |
