stannic chloride [′stan·ik ′klȯr‚īd] (inorganic chemistry) SnCl4A colorless, fuming liquid; soluble in cold water, alcohol, carbon disulfide, and oil of turpentine; decomposed by hot water; boils at 114°C; used as a conductive coating and a sugar bleach, and in drugs, ceramics, soaps, and blueprinting.
