Staple Fiber 

chemical fiber obtained by cutting or breaking a tow of longitudinally arranged filaments into staple lengths of 40–70 mm. Yarn from staple fiber is used to make dress and other fabrics. Use of the Russian term shtapel’noe volokno is not recommended by GOST (All-Union State Standards.)
