Refers to two-channel, analog audio signals that use one red (right) and one white (left) RCA connector for wiring consumer electronics equipment. For higher performance, professional audio equipment may use balanced XLR connections instead of RCA, or offer both XLR and RCA. See RCA connector and XLR connector.
