stereospecific polymer [¦ster·ē·ō·spə′sif·ik ′päl·i·mər]
(organic chemistry)
A polymer with specific or definite order of arrangement of molecules in space, as in isotactic polypropylene; permits close packing of molecules and leads to a high degree of polymer crystallinity. Also known as stereoregular polymer.
